Lillian M. Fleming Holubec, 77, of St.Petersburg passed away July 29, 2009 in Wakefield, New Hampshire after a courageous battle with melanoma. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Holubec; one daughter, Kathy Michalski and her husband, Bill of Shrewsbury, MA; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Wil. Lillian was born in Toronto, Canada and moved to St. Petersburg in 1947. She graduated from St. Pete High in 1950. Upon graduation she entered the banking business and worked for St. Pete Federal and then Security Federal. She continued her banking career with Home Federal Savings and Loan for over twenty-five years, and retired from Bank of America. Lillian enjoyed reading; spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; meeting her friends for lunch; and spending many summers in Highlands, North Carolina. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Moffitt Cancer Center for their kindness and compassion during her illness. Also, many thanks to VNA Hospice of Wolfeboro, NH for their wonderful care and support. A memorial service will be held at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 9th Street North at 11 AM on August 11th. Memorial donations may be made to: Moffitt Cancer Center, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL 33612 for melanoma research.
