In Loving Memory of Lillian McEwen

Lillian Marie McEwen, 88, of Cloquet, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born on October 25, 1935 to Jon and Laura Nikkola, in Grand Rapids, MN. Lillian will be missed by her children, Shawn McEwen (Aimee Smith and Kelly McEwen) and Susan (Steven) Appleton; grandchildren, Taja, Ashley, Paige, Andrea, Brenna, and Bradley; and great-grandchildren, Aubree, MaKayla, Max, Madison, Hunter, Ariana, Easton, and Tobias.

Atkins-Northland Funeral Home

Atkins-Northland Funeral Home

Almost 100 years ago, a group of 21 funeral providers came together to serve our community with the Northland Cooperative Burial Association. Our Cloquet community was famous for opening cooperatives and the funeral business was no different. There were many changes to follow in both our ownership and location until 2009 when we were purchased by Bob and Karen Atkins. The couple changed our name to the Atkins-Northland Funeral Home and later retired.
