Mrs. Lillian T. Rumrill, 92, of Gloversville, passed away September 2, 2010 in Sudbury, MA. She was born in Amsterdam N.Y. on October 15, 1917, daughter of the late Victor and Margaret Soltan. She was educated in Amsterdam schools and Albany Business School. During WWII, she worked as a secretary at the Army depot in Schenectady. She moved to Gloversville in the late 1940's. Lillian also worked in the cafeteria at Estee Jr. High School in Gloversville for several years. A long time animal lover, Lillian especially loved her cats. She also enjoyed reading and knitting in her spare time. She is survived by her son Michael Rumrill and his wife Jean of Maynard, MA, and two grandchildren: Ian and Caitlin Rumrill as well as nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother Joseph Soltan. A prayer service will be held 9:15 am Wednesday September 8, 2010 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 149 S. Main St. Gloversville with the Very Reverend Donald Czelusniak, Pastor, as celebrant. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society; 260 Osborne Rd; Loudonville, N.Y. 12211.
