Lillian Marie Thornton
May 20th, 1917 - February 17th, 2015
Mrs. Marie "Granny" Thornton, age 97, (May 20, 1917) of Auburndale passed away Tuesday February 17, at the Auburndale Oaks Healthcare Center of natural causes. Mrs. Thornton was a native of Colquitt, Georgia and had been a resident of our community for the past 64 years coming from Georgia. She was a retired citrus grader for the W.G. Roe Citrus Company in Winter Haven and was a member of the Lena Vista Baptist Church in Auburndale. She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Thornton, parents John and Lilla Dean, son Danny Thornton and daughter Retha Townsley. She is survived by her three sons Gerald (Linda) Thornton of Auburndale, Roger Thornton of Lakeland and Glen (Sheila) Thornton of Auburndale; daughter Dale Culpepper of Auburndale; 15 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
