Lily Doris Kathleen Edwards Porter, 98, of Largo, FL passed away January 3, 2023, at Largo Medical Center. She was born on July 4, 1924 in Bristol, England and lived in Louisville, KY before moving to Largo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Minnie Edwards, and her husband, Robert “Bob” J. Porter. Lily is survived by almost-family; Barbara Riley Collins and Jennifer Collins Walker (Michael); Bristol cousins; Keith Aston (Rosemary), Lee Aston (Christine), Charlotte and Isabelle Aston. Lily was a loving and caring woman. She loved to play cards with her neighborhood group, knit and read. Lily knitted hundreds of lap blankets that she donated to the Bay Pines VA Hospital. She started a library in the clubhouse, later dedicated to her, that she managed until she was 96. She loved dogs with all her heart and when she no longer had one, she would be the first to offer to dog sit. Her loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Lily will be interred next to Bob at Bay Pines National Cemetery on a later date. Visit the family’s online guestbook at www. AndersonMcQueen.com
