Linda L. Castillo
July 26th, 1951 - September 10th, 2013
Linda L. Castillo, 61 of Seminole, died Tuesday September 10, 2013 at Largo Medical Center Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Marcus Castillo, her sons, Justin Castillo and Brendan Castillo, her father Edwin Beach, her brother, Fred Beach, and an extended family of step-sisters, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, all that were beloved by her. Linda was born on July 26, 1951 in Steubenville, Ohio. She grew up in Weirton, West Virginia and Toronto, Ohio, graduating from Toronto High School. After graduation Linda moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. Linda received her Associate of Arts degree from St. Petersburg Junior College, her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida and her Law degree from Stetson University College of Law. During her school years Linda worked tirelessly at a number of jobs culminating in a position as an editor at the St. Petersburg Times. After graduating from Stetson, Linda worked as an attorney at Harris, Barrett, Mann and Dew, Richard Earle P.A., and Elkin and Zahm. From time to time Linda did project work with her husband who is also an attorney. When Linda became a mother she turned her energies to raising her family. She was a Royal Rangers and Scout mom, supported every team either boy ever played on, chaperoned drama competitions and school field trips and turned every one of the boys' accomplishments into a reason for celebration. Her efforts were not in vain: Justin graduated from West Point and is an Army Officer; Brendan is a student at Auburn University after a successful stint in Los Angeles as an actor. Linda was an intensely devoted and loving wife as well. Linda and Marcus faced life's struggles together and their deep love for each other overcame all. Linda was an adventurous soul. She tried skydiving. She hiked the Everglades. She loved to travel with the family. She was renowned for her generosity and selflessness. She threw herself completely at everything she did. The friendships she formed were deep and lasting. She loved and followed Christ and modeled him in her life. Many consider her the most virtuous person they ever knew. Wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend: Linda leaves a void that will be impossible to fill. There will be a gathering of friends and family at 1 P.M. Saturday, a memorial service at 2 P.M. and a reception to follow at Reese Funeral Home, 6767 Seminole Blvd., Seminole FL.
