Linda Mildred Cook
March 7th, 1940 - June 11th, 2021
March 7, 1940 to June 11, 2021 - It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of Linda SUMBITTED PHOTO - Linda M Whitney Cook It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of Linda, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to all whose lives she touched. Born Linda M. Whitney on March 7, 1940 in Nampa, ID to parents Harold and Ethel Whitney of Cascade, ID. Linda Passed peacefully at home in Molalla, OR on June 11th, 2021 age 81. Linda grew up in the small mountain town of Cascade, Idaho where she thrived in scholastics as a Salutatorian recipient upon graduation and enjoyed Drama and Cheerleading. Soon after she met and married handsome husband of 52 years, Don Alan Cook of Boise, ID that preceded her in death in October 2010. Linda is survived by her children Lori Dawn Jarvis (spouse Phil) of Molalla, OR; Michelle (Shelly) Rivenes (spouse Mike) of Woodburn, OR; Deana Cook Tasoulas of Kansas City, MO; David (Alan) Cook of Molalla and her brother John Whitney also of Molalla, OR. She is a loving grandmother to James Nutt, Curtis Nutt, Kristina Jobbins, Jacob Tasoulas, Justin Tasoulas, Whitney Rivenes Monger, Jenny Rivenes, and 16 great grandchildren as well. She is known and loved as Aunt Linda to the Buchta and Whitney family members. She will reunite in heaven with her beloved sister Jean (Jeannie) Whitney Buchta, brother Steve Whitney and her parents Harold and Ethel Whitney among other friends and family. Linda enjoys outdoor life: camping, fishing and gardening. Her baking was a gift handed down from her mother with cinnamon rolls, breads and pies the family favorites. After raising us kids in Molalla, Oregon which we called home in 1970, she worked as a produce manager at our local store and then worked at a nursery, her gardening dream job. We will miss her smile and laugh that was infectious at the family dinner or card game table. Linda was very interested in our family genealogy and had researched and created our ancestral tree with many generations which we continue to add to her legacy. The final chapter of her life was not without health difficulties. It comforts us to know that she is now at peace with God and reunited with loved ones she has long missed. We will be honoring Linda's life at Molalla Grange Saturday June 19th from 3:30 - 5:30. The final resting will be at Emmett Cemetery in Emmett, Idaho on Saturday July 31st, 10:00 a.m. where she will join our Family members that preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers donations could be made in her name Linda Cook to Willamette Valley Hospice wvh.org that was a tremendous help to our family in the final months or Alzheimers.org which Linda was caregiver of her mother with the disease.
