Linda J. English

"South Hadley - Linda J. (Merchant) English, 65, passed away on December 24, 2014 at Holyoke Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on January 17, 1949 in Southbridge, MA, daughter of Mark and Lucille (Barthelette) Merchant. Linda has lived most of her life in South Hadley. She enjoyed volunteering at the local food pantry to help those in need. In her leisure, she enjoyed time with her grandchildren, arts and crafts and planning parties. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Thomas H. English, three children, Thomas W. English and wife Christine of Indian Orchard, Mark English of Chicopee and Diane English of Indian Orchard along with her three grandchildren, Jonathan, Melissa and Catherine. She also leaves three brothers, David Merchant (Elizabeth) of Granby, Michael Merchant (Donna) of Fiskdale, MA and Kenneth Merchant (Barbara) of S. Hadley, sister-in- law, Kristine Houghton (Joseph) of Longmeadow and brother-in-law James English (Marilyn) of Monson, along with many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Services will be held at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 6:30 PM. Calling hours will be precede the service from 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm.
