Linda Missie Hobson

Obituary Missie Hobson, 57, of Windsor passed away on December 26, 2010 in Fort Collins after a long struggle with breast cancer. Missie and her husband Larry recently retired and moved to Windsor from San Luis Obispo, CA. Missie was raised in Woodland, CA and moved to San Luis Obispo in the early 1970's to attend Cal Poly where she majored in journalism. While at Cal Poly she began her radio and television career landing as weatherperson at KSBY-TV and later a co-anchor position. She joined Pacific Gas and Electric in 1983 and managed the local charitable contributions program until her retirement. She was very active in local charities. A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 30 years, Larry, son Matthew and daughter Lacey (Jeff) Pacheco of Windsor, step-daughters Becky Hobson and Mandi Haase, both of East Bay, Calif., parents Beverly and Lawrence Pires of Woodland, Calif., Brother Bruce (Brenda) Pires of Atascadero, CA and grandchildren Peyton and Bear Pacheco of Windsor. A celebration of Missie's life will be held Saturday January 8, 2011 at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, CA from 1 to 4 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in Care of Vessey Funeral Service.
