Linda Lou Laughlin
June 22nd, 1945 - January 29th, 2020
Linda Lou Laughlin, 74, of Bristol, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Linda was born on June 22, 1945 in Scott County to the late Joe B. and Genevieve (McMurray) Fugate. She was a 1963 graduate of Gate City High School. After high school she went on to attend Whitney College of Business. She was a member of Gardners Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Linda’s greatest loves were her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family. Along with her parents Linda is preceded in death by her brother, Joe B. Fugate, Jr; nephew, Darrell Brian Laughlin; nephew, Martin J. McMurray; brother in-law, Mike Harris; sister in-laws, Shirley Juanita McMurray Donna Jean Laughlin; brother in-law, Jimmy F. Laughlin. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 57 years, Leroy Laughlin; daughter, Marcella (Marcy) Laughlin Miller and fiancé Timothy W. Munsey; son, Timothy Laughlin and wife Cyndi; grandchildren, Ashley N. Miller and fiancé Bradley Hornbeck; Tiffany B. Miller; 2 great grandchildren; a step grandson; 2 step granddaughters; 3 step great grandchildren; sister, Francis Harris; sister, Patsy Moore and husband, Pete; sister in-law, Lou V. McMurray; brother in-law, Darrell Laughlin and wife, Patsy; close family friend, Lyndsay Hood; grandpuppy, Barney Fife; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Scott County Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow with Rev. Rex McMurray officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gardners Chapel Cemetery Fund, Don Huffman 3420 Cardinal St., Kingsport, TN 37660 or Barbara Mussellman 3332 Lightwood St., Kingsport, Tennessee 37660, in Linda’s memory. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nursing staff at Bristol Regional for their love and care. Carter Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Laughlin Family.
