Linda G. Marshall

Linda G. Marshall, 66, of Amsterdam, N.Y., has gone to her eternal rest on Monday, December 4th, 2017. Born on August 17th, 1951, in Amsterdam, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Sadie Fura and Zefrin Steven Gutowski. Linda was a graduate of the former Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam. She went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Suny Plattsburg. She dedicated many years of service to Key bank working her way up from a teller to a branch manager. She eventually retired due to her illness. She married Peter Marshall on December 11th, 1976. Linda was a member of the Red Hats Society, and the Banker's Society and Topps. Linda lived life to the absolute fullest. She was involved in as many activities as she could handle. She was a talented artist and quilter, as well as an avid reader who loved to cook and entertain family and friends. When she was able to do so she loved to travel and spend time at the family camp on Sacandaga Lake. She loved to make pisanka Ukrainian eggs which she shared with many. Linda devoted her life to her children who were her everything. She was strong and remained positive during tough times. Her positive and happy spirit will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love such an amazing woman. Linda is survived by her beloved husband Peter Marshall; her sons, Peter Joseph "P.J" (Karina) Marshall, and Zachary Marshall; her sister Mary Ann (Joseph) Leone, her granddaughter Emilia; and her godchildren and nieces and nephews, Joey, Jake, Josh, and Landrie Beth Leone. Many more loving family and close friends also survive. Linda is predeceased by her parents Sadie and Zefrin Gutowski, and her sister Sandra Lee Gutowski. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 at 11am at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Cornell St., Amsterdam, with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as Celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Upper Steadwell Ave., Amsterdam. The family will receive relative and friends on Wednesday December 6th, 2017 from 4- 7pm at Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam. In Lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
