Linda Kay Mchenry was born on December 4, 1960, in Omaha, NE to her loving parents Patricia and Chester Sheppard Sr who raised her in a loving Christian household where along with her siblings were taught about Jehovah God. After graduating from Fort Gibson High in 1979, Linda worked a few jobs, but one she always talked about and enjoyed was working with her Sister, Mother, and Aunt at Corning Glass until the company closed. Later Linda met and married Elmer McHenry of Red Bird, OK and together they raised three children two sons and one daughter. Over time Linda along with her family relocated to Bakersfield, CA to be closer to her parents and siblings. She found a new passion for cooking and worked as a Head Cook for Kern Medical Center, and other hospitals in the area. Linda never forgot about the love her parents instilled in her as a child about Jehovah God and His Son Christ Jesus. So, she started studying the bible with Jehovah Witnesses. She like her parents taught her children about Jehovah and always ensured they made the meetings, and out in the ministry. On October 10th of 2004 Linda symbolized her life to Jehovah in water baptism along with her daughter. Linda enjoyed sharing the hope of Gods kingdom to others. However, over the years due to health issues Linda could not get out in the door-to-door ministry as often as she would like but enjoyed letter writing when possible, or informal witnessing at her doctor appointments. Even with health issues she tried her best not to let that affect her getting to the meetings, assemblies, and Conventions. Linda was fun, kind, caring, and a giving person with a crazy big heart welcoming everybody until they gave her a reason not to. Always had her sisters and brothers’ back, and do not even think about messing with her kids. Linda enjoyed her grandkids; they all held a special piece of her heart. In her down time when not reading her bible or studying for the meeting, she enjoyed music, her Pepsi, coloring books, cooking and trying new recipes. She also enjoyed the many phone conversations with her beloved Mother throughout the week. Linda had a strong hope in the resurrection and always talked about the paradise and seeing her loved ones again. She will be greatly missed by her children, devoted husband of 40 years, family, and friends who long to see her soon. Those who proceeded her in death were her Father Chester A Sheppard Sr, sister June Davidson, Parent In laws (Hettie and Armstard McHenry), grandparents and other family members. Those left to cherish their fond memories of her include her husband Elmer McHenry of Phoenix, AZ. Children; Cornell Sheppard of Washington, DC, Elmer Sheppard (Vanessa) of Merced, CA. Latricia McHenry of Phoenix, AZ. Her Mother Patricia Sheppard of Bakersfield, CA. Her six sisters; Velester Andy of Phoenix, AZ, Patrice Roberts of Phoenix, AZ, Sharon Sheppard of Bakersfield, CA, Shonda Sheppard of Bakersfield, CA, Kimberly Sheppard of Bakersfield, CA, Latasha Hamonds (Nathan IV) of Bakersfield, CA. Two Brothers Chester A Sheppard Jr (Anneke) of Phoenix, AZ, Kevin Sheppard of Phoenix, AZ. Her Grandchildren; Jaqorian Sheppard, Kiandre Sheppard, Kavion Sheppard, Khairi Sheppard. Sisters n love; Lois, Dorothy, Linda, Margaret, and Elise (Joe). Along with her special nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives, and friends. You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands… Job 14:15
