Linda Perry
November 1st, 1951 - February 13th, 2014
"Palmer, Linda May (Canterbury) Perry, 62, died peacefully February 13 at home. Born in Westfield, she was the daughter of Robert and Gertrude (Ring) Canterbury of Palmer. She held a Master's Degree from Worcester State College. She has lived in Palmer for most of her life and was a dedicated and caring teacher of students at the Converse Middle School for more than 15 years. She had recently retired. Linda loved to travel with good friends and family, and enjoyed biking and hiking. She was very involved in the community, participating on the board of the library for many years and more recently engaging in work with the Palmer Rail Trail Committee. Her husband and loving companion of 40 years , Bill Perry preceded her in death in 2010. Besides her parents, she will be deeply missed by her children, Bill of Easthampton, and his children, Gabbi and Jacqui, Dan & his wife, Jodi of Gorham, ME and their children Austin, Morgan, Nik & Jake, and Ruth & husband Adolfo of Bloomfield, CT and their children, Carla and Emilia. Additionally, she leaves Kimberly Smith & partner Jesse of Wilbraham, and their son, Dominic, Stephanie Smith of Lockhart, TX and her children, Tyler and Travis, Andrew Smith in the Air Force, South Korea. She also leaves her siblings, Robert Canterbury, Palmer, Richard Canterbury, Collegeville, PA, LouAnn Grimes, Enfield, CT, Ruth Scheunemann, West Farmington, OH and Amy Herring, Springfield, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and precious friends. A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, Feb. 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church, 1080 Pleasant St., Palmer. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St, (Rte. 20). At the family's request, and to honor Linda's memory, please make donations to UMASS Memorial Foundation/ Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, 333 South Street Shrewsbury, MA 01545 or the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, 97 N Hatfield Rd, Hatfield, MA 01038. "
