Linda Thomas Linda K. Thomas passed away of cancer on April 28, 2015 in Eugene, Oregon. She was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota on February 26, 1949 to Earl & Mildred Holliday) Thomas. She lived in North Dakota for awhile, married John (Huntz) Yali and divorced. She moved back to Eugene, Oregon and lived here for 44 years. She had three sons; l Timothy Yali of Eugene, Oregon, John Yali of Elmira, Oregon and Jason Yali of Veneta, Oregon. She leaves behind 3 grandchildren; Jared Yali of Eugene, Oregon, Paige Yali of Ashland, Oregon and Jaxon Yali of Eugene, Oregon who is deceased. Linda married Guy Alloway of Veneta, Oregon on August 1972. He became a step-father and step-grandfather to Timothy, John, Jason, Jared, Paige and has always remained and still today after Linda’s passing is involved in their everyday life. Linda leaves behind 8 sisters and 2 brothers; Barb Johnson of Virginia, MA, Connie Lee of Monroe, OR, Earl Henry Thomas Jr. of Eugene, OR, Ellie Alloway of Veneta, OR, Pam Smith of Washington State, Loretta (Lori) Thomas/Cagle of Eugne, OR, Mona Sanders, of Kalispell, NT, Sheila Thomas of Harrisburg, OR, Traci Matcha/Thomas of Grand Forks, ND, Jesse Thomas, of Walport, OR, Terri Simpson/Thomas of Anchorage, AK. Linda went to LCC and graduated with a Teacher Certification on June 3, 1994 and continued on to Oregon State to get her Bachelors Degree on June 17, 2001. She taught in Fort Totten, ND for two years on the Indian Reservation and then became a special education teacher for the 4J School District. She worked with many children. She loved to work at Howard School and the kids loved her to pieces. She worked as she was fighting her sickness until the last year and half. She loved that Job! She worked for Eugene Court House for 6 years. We were very proud of her. Linda also got her CDL license and Guy Alloway has been a long haul truck driver for 40 years plus still driving today. Linda started driving long haul with him for 2 – 3 years. She also drove school bus for the 4J School District for 1 – 2 years. Linda enjoyed camping with her kids and grand kids, going to the coast, casino’s, books, knickknacks, plants, gardening spending one on one time with her grandkids, playing cards, board games, puzzles, painting, collecting antiques, yard sales, family BBQ’s and other family functions. She took lots of pictures. She loved to go for walks and walking her dog. She enjoyed her cat. Linda is preceded in death by a grandchild Jaxon Yali of Eugene, OR, sister Pam Smith of Washington State, grandparents Clarence & Eleanor Thomas and Jesse & John Holliday. Linda will be very much missed. She as a very interesting person to know and wonderful to talk to for hours. Contributes can be made to The Cancer Research Institute in her name. Hopefully they will find a cure. A Celebration of Life - Potluck will be held on June 7, 25950 Richardson Park Rd, off Clear Lake Rd. $4.00 gate charge Arrangements entrusted to Lane Memorial Funeral Home.
