Linda S Weaver
July 25th, 1951 - September 11th, 2023
Obituary of Linda Sue Weaver Linda Sue Weaver (Dempsey) was born July 25, 1951, in Omaha, NE. She is survived by her brother, David Dempsey, and sister Carol Nelson; her children Carrie Lynn Weaver (Todd Lindsay) and Ryan James Weaver (Sierra Fessler) and six grandchildren. Linda graduated from North Platte High School in 1969 and moved to Lincoln Nebraska along with her high school friend. She was employed as an operator for Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph. In 1970, she married and moved around for a few years while her husband was in the military. In 1972, Linda relocated to Arizona and spent many years enjoying the outdoors camping, hiking, river rafting and riding motorcycles. She was always up for an adventure. Linda had two children and was a devoted young mother working full-time for the US Postal Service and part-time for Smitty’s grocery store. As a mail carrier, Linda loved delivering mail to retirement communities. After 35 years of service, she retired from the US Post Office and often talked about how she wished, when she was working her routes, the mail trucks were air-conditioned. Linda grew up around horses and was an avid rider. She especially enjoyed watching her daughter and granddaughter carry on her legacy of a love for horses. She had a soft heart when it came to animals. Her backyard was a haven for birds with plenty of feeders and bird houses. Linda had several dogs, over the course of her life, but her most recent bond was with a malnourished stray she rescued from the street, and Bo became one lucky dog. Linda was a strong, capable, energetic, single mother of two children who was devoted to her family. She didn’t need any reason to get together with her family and spent every holiday and birthday with her loved ones. She supported her children and grandchildren and attended all their horse shows and BMX events, dance recitals, choir performances, award ceremonies, graduations, and school functions. Linda was always there to support her children, in crisis and celebration, and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Linda was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was loved dearly by family and friends. She will be missed but her spirit and love live on in the legacy her children and grandchildren carry.
