Lisa Dawn Pearson

Lisa Dawn Pearson passed away October 17, 2015 in Tumwater, Washington. She was born February 14, 1974 to Linda (Cross) Shoemaker and William Pearson in Olympia, Washington. A lifetime resident of Tumwater, she attended Tumwater schools, South Puget Sound Community College, and St. Martins University where she graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Lisa worked for the Washington State Military Dept. while she was attending college. After graduation, she worked for the Washington State Dept. of Ecology as a civil engineer, overseeing toxic waste clean-up. Lisa was very committed to her work and to her amazing co-workers. During her tenure, she received promotions and eventually supervised engineers and hydrogeologists from the regional Olympia and the Vancouver offices. Lisa was an avid runner and completed several half marathons. She loved to garden, get together with friends and family, and she especially loved being a mom to her two children. Lisa bought her home in Tumwater in 2004 and completed her family with the addition of Duke, a chocolate lab. Lisa was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Olympia. Lisa is survived by her son, Steven Pearson; daughter, Janie Pearson; parents, Linda and Dennis Shoemaker and Bill and Charlette Pearson; grandparents, Melvin Lutch and Merna Pearson; brother, Brian Pearson; stepsisters, Jenni (Sage) Cowsert and Denise (Lance) Ikerd; four nephews; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation may be made to a scholarship fund for her two children at any WSECU branch. The fund name is Pearson Memorial and the account ending is 7886.
