Lisa Samuels
May 27th, 1953 - January 13th, 2011
Lisa Samuels, 57, of Kingsboro Avenue, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Born May 27, 1953 in Chicago, IL and she was the daughter of Edythe Eisenstadt Karten and the late Seymour Offerman. Lisa grew up in Jericho, Long Island and was a graduate of the Jericho High School. She moved to this area in 1985. Lisa was a homemaker and was elected to the Gloversville School Board, serving from 1994 to 1999. Lisa enjoyed cooking and reading mystery novels and loved spending time with her grandchildren. On June 28, 1986 she married Howard E. Samuels. Besides her husband she is survived by a son Michael Farrell, Jr. of Berkley, CA; a daughter Jessica Offerman of Saratoga Springs; her mother Edythe Eisenstadt Karten of Huntington, Long Island; a sister Mia Kelley-Bock of Oakland, CA; three grandchildren Atom, Geoffrey and Justice and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Dennis Offerman and a step-father Everett Karten. Services will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY. Calling hours will be one hour prior from 1 to 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Knesseth Israel Cemetery in Gloversville, NY. It is the request of the family that there be no flowers.
