Lisa Valdez
August 28th, 1962 - July 9th, 2020
Obituary Lisa Valdez was born August 28th, 1962 to "Chinky" & Barbara Martinez. Lisa passed away on July 9th after she fought a long and hard battle with cancer. She is no longer suffering and is at peace. She was known for her smile, sense of humor and most of all, her love for her family. When she met the love of her life Rodney, she let him know that he was taking on her whole family. He took on that challenge and they were married for 28 years. Rodney and Lisa's house was always filled with family and friends. She took care of everybody, whether it was giving someone a place to stay, feeding them or just listening. She made sure that everyone was taken care of. When she became a grandma, she was thrilled. She loved her grandchildren more than anything. She never missed any of their plays, games or any activities they were involved in. Her house was always the place for their friends to be, and she was always called "Grandma" by everyone. Lisa loved sports and was a big CSU fan; and she had season football tickets to watch them every year. She loved her Rockies and also her Broncos. Lisa played softball while growing up and played catcher for her team, September 16th. They won the State Tournament in 1982 and Lisa was named MVP of the championship. She loved to go camping and fishing, or just taking a ride in the mountains; but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She became a Great Grandma on December 7th, 2019 to Zayvion. Lisa is survived by her husband of 28 years, Rodney Valdez, her sons Marcelino (Lino) Martinez, Trey Valdez and stepson Javier Quirino, four grandchildren, Syah, Meyliana, Maximo, and Elena; who were her world. She is also survived by her sister, Rayann, brothers Mike and Chris, honorary brother Danny and mother Barbara, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, "Chinky", great niece Arabella ,niece and nephew Marie and Pancho, and her uncle Butch. We will miss you so much Lisa.
