Lloyd K. Hester

Lloyd K. Hester passed away at home under Hospice care after a short illness on July 29th at 8:16am. He was born in Portland, OR on October 27, 1953 he moved to St. Petersburg in 1964 where he met and married his wife, Jayne Greenhalgh on January 20, 1978 at Northside Baptist Church who is left to cherish his memory aft 38 ½ years. He was a member of Lake Maggiore Baptist Church and in 1967 he became a member of Northside Baptist Church where he was an Awana leader for almost 25 years. Lloyd graduated from Boca Ciega High School in 1971 and attended St. Petersburg College for a short time. During this time he served in the United States Army from 1971-1974 and worked at the Skyway Animal Hospital. He began his 42 ½ year career with the US Postal Service in 1976 and retired on July 1, 2016. He was an avid coin collector, charter member of Cuban Numismatist Club, Greater Ocala Coin Club, a member of ANA, St. Pete Coin Club, Clearwater CC and Largo CC. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Charlotte Hester; son, David; brother, Leonard. He leaves behind his wife, Jayne; son Lenny Hester; grandchildren Trevor Veeder, Lenny Hester and Andrew Lawrence; brother Larry Hester (Cheryl); many nieces and nephews. Lloyds celebration of life will be Saturday, Aug. 6 at 1pm at Northside Baptist Church.
