Obituary Lloyd Makoto Ishii, 81, a Monterey County resident for nearly 60 years, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2019 at his home with family by his side. Lloyd was born on July 20, 1937 to Dean Sr. and Masako Ishii on Kauai, Hawaii. There he was raised with his two brothers and sister. After graduating from Mid-Pacific Institute and Church College of Hawaii in Honolulu, he served briefly in the US Army. He worked as an insurance salesman with his father before moving to Seaside. On June 25, 1966 he married Linda Fujitani in Kapaa, HI, and they had two daughters. Lloyd worked as a landscaper before retiring. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Lloyd will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity and aloha spirit by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Dean Y. Ishii Jr. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda, his daughters Liane Yamasaki and Linae Ishii-Devine (John Devine), his grandsons James and Michael Devine, his sister Pauline Yanagisawa (Rudy), his brother Robert Ishii (Diane), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lloyd Ishii's name can be made to St. James Episcopal Church or one's favorite charity. A memorial service will be held on February 8 at 3:30pm at St. James Episcopal Church, 381 High Street, Monterey. Aloha attire welcomed.
