Lloyd D. McNichols

May 24th, 1930 - August 5th, 2012

Lloyd D. McNichols, 82, of Caldwell passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at home from natural causes. Lloyd was born May 24, 1930 to Leona and Wallace McNichols in Lovewell, Kansas. The family moved from Burr Oak to Wilder, Idaho in 1944, then to Middleton in 1946. He graduated from Middleton High School in 1948. He tried his hand at picking apples until he nearly starved, and then decided to join the army in 1948. He was sent to Japan, and then the Korean War broke out and President Truman extended all the army one more year. Lloyd spent 3 years in Japan and was discharged in the fall of 1952. He later met and married Rita Weaver in 1953. He worked in the creamery in Caldwell, Idaho, and Klamath Falls, Oregon. In 1990, after 30 years, he retired from the creamery. Lloyd is survived by his wife Rita Weaver McNichols, his children Linda and Gary, and four grandsons. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012, 1:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Condolences can be made at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com. Service Information
