Lois Frieda Jacobs Ausbeck

WEST COLUMBIA - Lois Frieda Jacobs Ausbeck, 92, of West Columbia, widow of Joseph Anthony Ausbeck, Jr., passed away on May 13, 2020 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Born September 12, 1927 in Oak Park IL, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Fredrick Jacobs, Sr and Frieda Anne Luedtke Jacobs. She earned a nursing degree and began her career in this field. After relocating to South Carolina in 1983, she entered into education where she was employed with the South Carolina Department of Education until her retirement. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She instilled the importance of family to all she met. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Surviving are two daughters, Pat Kwiatkowski (Stephen) of Holden Beach, NC and Joyce Bernstein (Larry) of Washington, DC; one son, Paul Ausbeck (Joyce) of Roseberg, OR; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Ausbeck of West Columbia, and one grandson, Zachery Bernstein o Washington, DC. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kurt Ausbeck; a sister Arlene Mitzenmacher and a brother, Elmer Jacobs. Due to current Covid-19 circumstances, a memorial service will be held at a future date at Arlington National Cemetery when she will join her beloved husband.
