The family spent a few years in Spokane and later returned to Seattle where she graduated from Roosevelt High School. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority at the University of Washington where she obtained a BA in Education. She was an avid Husky football fan and was a season ticket holder for over 40 years. She learned to master crossword puzzles from her father and completed at least one a day (in pen). She loved playing bridge with various bridge clubs. She has been friends with some of these incredible ladies for over 50 years. Her hand-knit Christmas stockings will continue to be cherished by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ann Butler Callow, Jerome Combs, and sons, Jay Combs and John Combs. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Hill (Oliver), grandson, Lucas Combs, granddaughters, Megan Hill and Malorie Hill, and nieces and nephews. Remembrances may be made to Mary Bridge Brigade.
