Lois Lovena Neptune Hartt

April 21st, 1934 - April 12th, 2024

Lois Lovena Neptune Hartt suddenly passed away after a brief illness in her bed on April 12, 2024. Her loss is completely unexpected and her family is profoundly saddened.

Lois was born on April 21, 1934 to Belmont and Lucy Neptune in Lyons, Colorado. She was one of seven children. Preceded in death by Dan, Burt, Nelson, and Eunice. Survived by her sisters Ruby and Debra. She lived in and loved the mountains in Colorado throughout her childhood.

It was in Utah that she began to build a life and family, together with her husband Tony (deceased), and her four children, Michael, Rebecca, Tami, and Jauni. Lois was an exemplary Mother and human. She showed her qualities in her care for her family, 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and countless friends.

Lois became a Jehovah’s Witness on August 6 1960. This started her great life long career as a bible teacher. She accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and a smile. She had immense passion for her spiritual work and all people.

She had a knack for making friends easily and making all friends feel like her best friend. This was a great help in her secular work as a realtor.

Lois was a lover of life and new experiences, often exceeding the limits of what she was expected to do. When she decided to learn Spanish in her late 60’s it called for immersion in the language and winter stays in Spain and frequent travel to Mexico. She was always going somewhere. She liked to say she had been to over 20 countries and much of the USA from Alaska to Hawaii.

Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound because she was active in her ministry and walking daily until the last week. This loss is gravely felt by her entire family and countless friends who loved her deeply in her wide network.

She was the most influential person in my childhood, a mother and grandmother to me. She’is my reason for the life I live today and she is in all my hikes, road trips and adventures. She has always been with me and always will be. Forever greatful for her love and passion for walks, adventure's. And sleepovers with cousins in the grass. She is truly an inspiration and always will be loved by all she touched.

My mom would talk about how her and grandma Lois would go camping, go out somewhere and spend time in nature. It was nice to hear such positive stories about my mom's childhood and about my family through stories about grandma Lois. I know grandma Lois was good to my mom, and that mattered a lot to my mom, and that means a lot to me.
