Lois M. Knudson
October 2nd, 1935 - October 12th, 2014
Lois Mabel Knudson passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 12, 2014 after 38 years of treatment for Breast Cancer. She was born in Seattle to Lois and Herb Hough on October 2, 1935. She graduated from Blaine High School in 1953 and attended Bellingham Business College. She married Leslie Knudson on May 21, 1960 and they were happily married for 54 years. They spent most of their married life working side by side managing their properties, including a motel, apartment, retail and rental houses. Their three children were born in Everett: Ronald, Nancy, and Diane. They lost their beloved Ronnie to a childhood cancer in 1966. They lived in Everett for the first 16 years then moved to Shoreline in 1977 where they have resided since. Throughout the years Lois was happiest when serving others in numerous organizations: Rainbow Worthy Advisor, PTSA (Golden Acorn), Everett Soroptimist (President of Seattle North), Teen Hope, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Insurance Women of Puget Sound, and Bridge Ministries. In recent years Lois supported Vision House and Elisabeth Gregory House and was the local outreach leader for Calvin Presbyterian Church. Lois and Les traveled extensively throughout Europe and all but two States. They forever cherished memories from their travels. She had a career in the insurance industry for 15 years. Lois held a part-time job during retirement on the Registration Staff of the Seattle Visitors Convention Bureau. Lois is survived by husband Leslie; daughters Nancy (David) and Diane (Ron); grandchildren RJ, Kylie, Max, and Blake; sisters Dorothy (Ben) and Margaret; cousins and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church on November 1, at 11:00am in Shoreline with reception following. Donations in her memory can be made to Susan G.
