Lois Catherine Boothe Lowe
August 25th, 1932 - December 6th, 2022
Lois Catherine Boothe Lowe, 90, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. The loving wife of the late Byron E. Boothe, Lois was born August 25, 1932, to the late Walker and Wilhelmina Kahne Craft in Lawrence County, Ohio. A mother of 4, Lois spent much of her life raising her children and caring for their home in Richmond, Kentucky and Ironton, Ohio, but once Byron retired, together they opened and operated a shoe store in Monticello, Indiana for many years. Ready for a change of pace, Lois and Byron decided to close their store and move back to Kentucky to be closer to family and enjoy retirement. Soon after, Lois yearned to get back to her passion, cosmetology. She found lasting friendships and joyful fulfillment working at Macy’s for Este Lauder Cosmetics until Byron’s passing in 2002. Lois would later find both companionship and love with a longtime friend and her second husband, Robert Lowe. She and Bob would live out the remainder of their lives in their Virginia home, traveling, enjoying new experiences, and just having fun. Lois was so full of life, brightening everyone’s day with her beautiful smile and infectious laughter. A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be missed. Lois is survived by her children, Tamara (Kevin) Plunkett of VA, Tara (Craig) Addis of AL, Tana (Roger) English of Lexington, and Byron (Kathy) Boothe of GA; a sister, Anne Moore of OH; her grandchildren, Jay (Kathy) Wilson, Amy (Kendall Cosby) Marshall, Eric Wilson, Caitlin Plunkett, Casey (Charles) Alford, Dustin (Brittany) Addis, David (Amy) English, Logan (Hannah) English, Garrett English, Abbey English, Kelley (Corey) Griggs, Mary Boothe, and Walker Boothe; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Walker and Wilhelmina Kahne Craft, Lois was preceded in death by the love of her life, Byron E. Boothe, her second husband and companion, Robert Lowe, and sisters, Billie Ruth Wheeler and Dorothy Louise Marsh. Services will be private with burial at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, Kentucky.
