Memorial

Lois Owens, The Groves, Land O Lakes

Lois Owens was reunited with the love of her life on Saturday, July 6, 2024. She was 85.

Lois was a fighter, and she fought hard for several months against cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease. Her fight ended peacefully at the Rucki Hospice Care Center in Zephyr Hills, FL.

For 47 years, she relished life with her husband, Bob. Together, they traveled often, and lived in Massachusetts, Texas and Belgium, before settling in Florida in 1995. There, she met wonderful friends – neighbors who she would play Mexican train with, sing karaoke with, and later in life, rely on for an occasional trip to a doctor, or help with her darn smartphone.

Lois was preceded in her transition by her husband, Bob, who’s been waiting for her in Heaven since 2006; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sybil of Marshfield, Massachusetts; her granddaughter and husband, Emma and Coy Machac of Azle, Texas; her grandson, Grayson, and his “person,” Kara Carchedi, both of Massachusetts; and many others.

A celebration of Lois’ life is being planned for September in Land ‘O Lakes. More details to follow.
