Lola Winifred Barnett

BARNETT, Lola Winifred, 95, of Land O’ Lakes, FL, passed away April 13, 2018. Lola was born in Jamaica and after starting a family she moved to the United States in her early 40’s, then moved to Land O’ Lakes from NY in 2004. After moving to the US she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Lola was a member of Harvester United Methodist Church. She enjoyed making pottery, ceramics, gardening, painting and redecorating the house. She loved taking care of others and spending time with family and friends. She was strong willed, “If Lola says it, It goes!” Lola was preceded in death by all of her 11 siblings. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Vassell and his wife, Millicent; her daughter, Sheila Vassell; four grandchildren, Garfield, Omar, Kurt and Tracey; seven great grandchildren, Emari, Niya, Mia, Jelani, Na’imah, Na’sir and Na’dim; many extended family and friends. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Harvester United Methodist Church in Land O’ Lakes, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
