Lonnie Charles Jones
March 6th, 1960 - June 21st, 2018
Lonnie Charles Jones, 58, of Kingsport passed away at home on June 21, 2018 following a 7 month battle with cancer. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. He worked for J.P Stevens until closing of the plant. He was a long haul truck driver working for Pam Transport and was working for Decker Flatbed when he became ill. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles L. Jones; and sisters Linda Jones and Deborah Jones Manis. He is survived by his Fiancé, Dondi Adkins; daughter, Candi Young and husband Kenny; grandson due in September; mother, Frances Jones; brothers, Lloyd Jones and wife Judy and Larry Jones and wife Anita; sister, Sherry Lark and husband Gary; brother in law, Jim Manis; aunt, Peggy Spangler; nine nieces and nephews along with their spouses; and seven great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm at Scott County Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Marvin Egan officiating. A graveside service will be on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 1pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Marvin Egan officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45pm. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Denise and Amedysis Hospice, special nephew Larry Wayne Rhoten, and to all who participated in the help of Lonnie’s care. Carter Trent Funeral Home, Scott County is serving the Jones Family.
