Lorenzita Baca Anaya
August 6th, 1922 - April 15th, 2015
Lorenzita Baca Anaya, age 92, born in Socorro, NM August 6, 1922. She began her long journey by dancing her way home on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 to be with our Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anselmo Anaya: her parents, Celillo Baca and Veneranda Baca; her children, Marylou Chavez (Leroy), Ida and Irene Anaya; her siblings, Cy Baca; as well as numerous half sisters and brothers. She survived by her children, Eva Sanchez, Andy (Nora Tachias) Anaya and Ricky Anaya; grandchildren, Theresa and Dolores Sanchez and Anthony Chavez; six great grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was very proud to work as a seamstress for the W.P.A. during the war. After marrying her husband in 1946, they moved to Albuquerque and settle in the Barelas community and became active members at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She volunteered many hours for twenty years at Sacred Heart Church from washing, ironing and starching the linen. As a home maker she worked as a healer with old traditions of herbs and massages that she learned from her grandmother who lived to be 110 years old. She was also given the opportunity to become an extra in Breaking Bad (BrBa) when Mr. Vince Gilligan the producer wrote a special part for her to play. She was also an extra in Night Shift. On Wednesday, April 22, 2015 a viewing will be held at 5:30 PM, at the Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque Chapel, followed by a eulogy at 6:15 PM, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to start at 6:30 PM. Reciting the Rosary will be Fr. Frank Quintana and Deacon Robert Vigil. The Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church located at 309 Stover Ave SW and 4th street. Burial will take place at Fairview cemetery, with a reception to follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. Pallbearers will be Oracio Turrieta Jr., Paul Mendez, Adam Rodriquez, Michael Rice, Ambrose Chavez, and Ray Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Sedillo, Dinah Vargas and Caden Rocker. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Lorenzita's name for homeless to: ABQ Justice C/O 202 Harvard SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
