Loretta F. Burch, 84 of Charlotte NC passed away peacefully on August 23, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin D. Burch and Vera Sellars Burch, her brothers, William (Bill) Burch and Larry Burch, and her son Anthony Rojo. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Magyar (Stephen), daughter in law, Traci Rojo, eight grandchildren, Sydney Rojo, Garret Rojo, Jessica Moritz (Billy), Adam Faizi (Stephanie), Meredith Paul (Ajay), Caroline Chabot (Trent), Stephen Magyar (Sarah Grace), Matthew Magyar (Morgan), fourteen great grandchildren, many cousins, a niece and two nephews. Born in Ruby, SC on February 10, 1938, Loretta graduated from Ruby High School and went on to receive her Business degree from Winthrop University. She continued her education and obtained her Masters Degree in Education at University of North Carolina Greensboro. Teaching was her passion, and she spent many years sharing her love of accounting and business with her students at Central Piedmont Community College. Many of her former students kept in touch with her over the years. After retiring, she faithfully served at Sardis Presbyterian Church where she was member as a Deacon and on many committees. She had a heart for the elderly and volunteered at the Shepherd Center. She enjoyed driving the elderly to doctor appointments, to the grocery store, and she always delighted in giving them social time by taking them to lunch. She served as President of the HOA for her neighborhood community and she was an active member of the Republican Womens Club in Charlotte. Loretta was an avid traveler and spent a majority of her time in her beloved Spain. She had a great group of lifelong friends and close colleagues from CPCC that she treasured eating out with at her favorite restaurants. She delighted in going to The Palm for crabcakes and The Pancake House at Southpark. In her spare time, she could be found perfectly completing the daily crossword puzzle in the Charlotte Observer, rooting for the Clemson Tigers, shopping for vintage keys for her collection, checking out a good book at Morrison Library and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was beloved by many and will be missed dearly. A special thank you to her wonderful caregivers, Shannon, Charity, Meghan, Holly and Denise for their tender, loving care. We are grateful to Dr. Jeremy Carter, Dr. Andrea Diedrich and Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County for their compassionate and excellent care. The funeral will be held at Sardis Presbyterian Church (6100 Sardis Rd.) on Saturday, August 27, 2022. Visitation will begin at 10am with the service following at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sardis Presbyterian Church. Memorial Saturday, August 27, 2022 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Sardis Presbyterian Church 6100 Sardis Rd.
