Lorna Jarvis

Lorna was born August 28, l939 in Coaldale, Alberta, Canada. At the age of 12, she moved to Seattle, Washington with her parents. After moving to Billings, Montana, she graduated from high school and attended Seattle Pacific College (now University). She met and was married to her husband, Hilton Jarvis, September 1960, and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. They met at Lorna’s home church, Church of the Air, in Billings, where her husband served on the pastoral staff. From there, Lorna and her husband served as pastor of Dieringer Bible Church in Dieringer, Washington. In 1967, they moved to Wenatchee, Washington, where her husband was senior pastor of Calvary Bible Church for ten years. This was followed by a brief ministry at Harbor Trinity Baptist Church, Costa Mesa, California. In July 1977, she and her husband moved to Lacey, Washington and began serving at Lacey Chapel. Her husband retired after 22 years as pastor of Lacey Chapel. This was followed with interim pastoral service in four churches. Lorna also worked as a medical receptionist with Group Health Cooperative for 21 years before retiring. She is the mother of two sons (one deceased) and a daughter, eight grandchildren and two step grandchildren. She passed away Thursday morning, September 24, 2015 at her home in Lacey.
