Our mother, Lorna, was born on April 1st, 1935, in Ladysmith, British Columbia. Moving with her mother to the United States, she took a secretarial job to support herself. She later met and married our father, Tom. Lorna had a passion for gardening, classical music, knitting, counted cross stitch, Scrabble (still undefeated in her family), crosswords, and white chocolate peppermint lattes. Her pies and knitting won numerous awards at various fairs. Lorna was also an avid walker, sometimes upwards of 10 miles per day. As her kids grew, Lorna attended college, which left lasting memories and quite a few anecdotes. Her passion for advocating for the underdogs knew no bounds.
Lorna passed away on July 20th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband and son. She is survived by her brother Larry, daughters Leslie and Lavinda, two granddaughters Erin and Melanie, and two great-granddaughters, Madeleine and Magnolia.
