Lorraine Aurilia
February 5th, 1947 - August 16th, 2016
Lorraine Ann (Borretsky) Aurilia entered Heaven's gates on August 16th, 2016. She was born on February 5th, 1947, to Lester and Stella Borretsky in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. After high school, she attended Kings County Nursing School in Brooklyn, NY, where she met the love of her life, Richard Santo Aurilia. They married on April 19th, 1969, and had two sons, Richard Santo and Anthony Joseph. Lorraine worked in the nursing field for 35 years at Kings County Hospital, Bay Ridge Veterans Hospital and the NY State Workman Compensation Board. After retiring, she volunteered for Hospice of the Valley and worked at the Riverboat Casino in Surprise, Arizona. Lorraine enjoyed socializing with all of her friends and neighbors, playing bingo and going to the movies. She was a proud member of the Red Hats, who later morphed into the Lunch Bunch. She was a generous friend and a wonderful story-teller. Her girlfriends called her their ‘sister'. After a second battle with Lymphoma, she passed peacefully at her home. Her last wish was to be at her home, close to family and friends. Lorraine is preceeded in death by her father Lester, her brother Ronald, and her loving husband Richard. She is survived by her mother Stella, her sister Sandy, her sons Richard and Anthony, her daughter-in-law Amy, and her grandsons Chaz and Gavin. Lorraine was the ultimate care giver, an inspiration to many - she touched everyone she met with her friendly demeanor and infectious smile. She was kind and loving, generous and giving. Her strength knew no bounds. She will be missed and remembered always. Services: Saturday, September 17th, 2016 Price of Peace Catholic Church 14818 W.
