Lorraine Picard
June 2nd, 1928 - April 5th, 2024
Monson- Lorraine Picard, 95, passed away April 5, 2024 at home surrounded by family. She was born on June 2, 1928 in Madawaska, Maine to the late Eloi and Laura (Martin) Lavoie. Lorraine and her husband, Jean Luc, moved to Monson 1957 and continued to raise and grow their family. She previously worked at Wing Hospital as a Senior Nurse's Aide for over 30 years. Lorraine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden growing flowers and vegetables. She will be truly missed by all. Besides her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Jean Luc Picard; sons, Paul, Guy, Roger, and James; and siblings, Cecile Raymond, Martin Lavoie, Robert Lavoie, Aurore D'Amours and Louise Ruest. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Picard; son, Peter Picard and wife Debbie; brother, Felix Lavoie and wife Doreen; daughters-in-law, Rose and Lillian Picard; grandchildren, Kristin, Nichole, Justin, Luke, David, Elise, Helen, Paul, Heather, Jamie, Amanda, and Alecia; as well as 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 11, 2024 from 4-6pm with a funeral service to begin at 6pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine's memory can be made to Baystate Hospice, 30 Capital Dr. West Springfield, MA 01089.
