Lorraine T. Symolon Rogers

Lorraine T. Symolon Rogers, 86, of Johnstown passed away June 3, 2021. Born in Amsterdam on February 19, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Anthony Symolon and Sophie (Rila) Richardson. Survived by her loving children Raymond W. Rogers Jr; of Johnstown, Ronald (Linda) Rogers of Amsterdam, James (Maggie) Rogers of Johnstown, Robert Rogers of Johnstown, Paul Rogers of Johnstown, Gary (Tammy) Rogers of Amsterdam, and Michael (Jennie) Rogers of Broadalbin. Survived also by eight grandchildren DeAnna Scarfone, Justin Rogers, Nicholas Rogers, Ryan Rogers, Devon Houghton, Sydney Rogers, Sophia Rogers, and Connor Askew. Also by six great grandsons, Emerson, Lorenzo, Justin II, Grayson, Graham, Maddox, and cousins Susan Billow and Michael Sufnarski. Also by her closest and dearest friend Eleanor Burke. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Raymond Rogers. Lorraine was born and raised in Amsterdam before moving to Johnstown to raise her children. She was a 1953 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch. Lorraine was employed by Johnstown Knitting Mill where she was a sewing machine operator for 38 years retiring in 2000. Lorraine was a dedicated mother, grandmother, who loved her family with her heart and soul. Lorraine always enjoyed baking for her family and friends for any occasion. Relatives and friends are invited and may attend the Mass of Christian burial that will be offered on Saturday June 12, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 205 Glebe Street, Johnstown, NY 12095. Inurnment in the family plot of St. Stanislaus Cemetery will follow after the mass. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
