South Hadley, Louis A. Gentile, 98, died peacefully on April 13th at the Holyoke Medical Center. Born in Springfield on May 25, 1921 he was the son of Antonio and Rose Gentile-Dellipriscoli. Louis proudly served his country during WWII in the US Army. Upon his return from the war, he found employment at the former American Bosch where he worked for over 40 years. In 1942 married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Hervieux) and they were happily married for 55 years until her death in 1997. He and Elizabeth were long time residents of Belchertown before he relocated to South Hadley. In his leisure Louis enjoyed farming, golfing and trips with the Bosch crew. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by his children, Gary and his wife Anna of NY, Susan Setkewich and her husband Steve of Somers, CT, Robin Gentile of Springfield and Adam and his wife Theresa of Barre along with seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. His brother, Mario and his wife Janet of FL and many nieces and nephews also survive him. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his son Todd and brothers, Carmen, Al and James.
