Louis Clayton Houck, 77, of Lexington, SC, died Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Born in Columbia, SC on August 2, 1943, he was the youngest son of the late Clayton and Cleo Houck. Louis is a graduate of Lexington High School and a retired member of the South Carolina Army National Guard and US Army. He enjoyed gospel music, military history, visiting Revolutionary and Civil War battle sites, and was a member of the SC Military Miniatures Society. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cay; daughters, Lisa Houck and Linda Houck of West Columbia; and furry family friends, Yoda and Ladybug. He is survived by his brother, Jim, of Summerville, SC; sister, Gloria, of FL; and brother, Charles, of FL. He is predeceased by his sister, Inez, also of FL. The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Platt Springs United Methodist Church in West Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends at 12:00pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at 3:00pm at Elmwood Cemetery. The family wishes to express gratitude to his medical teams at Lexington Medical Center, Still Hopes, and Prisma Health Richland Hospital. Memorials may be sent to Platt Springs United Methodist Church.
