Lou (Chookie) Nicoloff went home to meet Jesus on March 9th, 2021. He was born April 5, 1942 in Sharon, PA and lived most of his young life in Farrell, PA. Lou graduated from Farrell Sr. High School in class of 1960 He was a sports enthusiast and played Basketball while in High School. Lou joined the US Navy after high school and was stationed in Washington, DC at Cheltenham, MD. From July 1960- 1964 he worked as a Radiotelegraph Operator. While he knew his loving wife Patricia (Pat) for quite some time they were married on August 25, 1962. They would have been married for 59 years. They had three children together Louis D. Nicoloff II, DeAnna Vath, and Renee Hilverding. Once out of the service worked at National Castings amongst other places. As time went on the steel industry in Pennsylvania changed and Lou and Pat decided to move out to Colorado in July of 1984 and Lou worked at Jerry’s Pizzeria and Thompson Pipe and Steel. Even though they had moved to Colorado, Lou never lost his love for Steeler’s Nation and was a diehard fan but decide to cheer for the Broncos as well. Rockies baseball was always an off season past time and a much-loved memory maker as well while his grandkids grew. He is survived by his wife Patricia Russo Nicoloff, his 3 children, Louis D. Nicoloff II married to Sheila Nicoloff, DeAnna Vath married to Michael Vath and Renee Hilverding Chookie has 11 Grandchildren who love him like crazy and who he supported in all of their life’s endeavors as well as 15 Great Grandkids who he thought the world of! His whole life revolved around his love of his family. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Louis and Hilda and his brother, David. Surviving is his sister Donna Kobsik married to Fred Kobsik who resides in Charlotte, N. Carolina.
