Louis Leo Schwander “Louie”, while with his family, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, in Forest Grove, OR on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018, from complications due to Parkinson’s Disease, at the age of 90. Louis is survived by his loving wife Violet, daughter, Dolores A. Bell and husband David, children Aaron ( wife Emily and great grandchildren, Bradley and Brodie) and Nicholas; son, Kenneth M. Schwander and his wife Tiffany J. and children, Laura (husband Nathan), Adam, Jamie; son, Mark L. Schwander and his wife Tiffany C., and children, Jacob and Michael; as well as cousins and many in-laws. Louis was born on July 4th, 1927 in Mountaindale, OR to Fred L. and Margaret L. Schwander. He graduated from Mountaindale Grade School from the 8th grade. He married Violet A. Hutchison on November 17, 1947 (They just finished celebrating their 70th anniversary). During the course of Louis’ life he was employed as a: Farmer, Logger, Truck Driver, Heavy Equipment Operator, Mechanic, Foreman, Carpenter and retired member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Louis built and/or remodeled his last 5 homes. A true craftsman at heart. When Louis and Violet were not traveling, he enjoyed wood projects, maintaining his retirement estate and spending time with family and friends. He attended Westside Bible Fellowship in Hillsboro, OR. Louis previously resided in: Mountaindale, OR, Hillsboro, OR, Cloverdale, CA, San Diego, CA, and Beaverton, OR. Final days of his life were spent with friends at the Marquis Assisted Living Residence in Forest Grove, OR. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Westside Bible Fellowship, 526 SE 9th Ave, Hillsboro, OR. Final resting place: Arcade Cemetery, Pumpkin Ridge, OR.
