Louis E. Tassinary

Louis E. Tassinary, 88, of Ocala passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018. Louis was born in Bridgeport, CT on November 29th, 1929. He subsequently lived in Stratford and Fairfield, CT. He attended Grasmere Grammar School, graduating from Roger Ludlow High School in 1948. He attended Bridgeport University for a short time, leaving to serve in the US Army during the Korean War. During his service he was with the US Army Security Agency stationed in Germany. Upon leaving the military he married June T. Davis in May of 1953. He graduated from Norwalk Community Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in Engineering and went to work for the Bullard Machine Company. Over the next few decades he worked for the Perkin-Elmer Corp., Austin Hasting Machine Tool Distributers, Anderson Machine Tool Distributers, Stedfact and Ralsten Machine Tool Distributers and Hughes Aircraft and lived with his wife and their two children – Ann and Lou – first in Fairfield and then 25 years in Newtown, CT. For the twelve years prior to retirement he was employed as a Machine Tool Engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft and traveled extensively throughout Europe and East Asia procuring machinery for building helicopters. He retired to Florida in 1988 and enjoyed playing golf, building and flying remote-controlled model airplanes. His first love, however, was traveling. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, June of Ocala; daughter Ann (Alan) Ives of East Goshen, CT; son, Louis G. (Melanie) of College Station, TX; granddaughter, Julie Ives of Seattle, WA; and grandson, Christopher Ives of CT.
