Mrs. Louisa E. Flanagan Rorick, age 91 of Broadalbin, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday evening, May 14, 2005 at Mount Loretto Nursing Home, Amsterdam. She was born March 12, 1914 in Glenville, the daughter of Frank and Belle Quillit Flanagan. She had lived in Glenville, later in Caroga Lake, and lastly in Broadalbin. A beloved homemaker, Louisa was told many times by her son Floyd that she was ?the best mommy in the world.? Mrs. Rorick is survived by her son Floyd H. Rorick and his significant other Judy Kuchera of Amsterdam; a sister, Elizabeth Downs of NJ; eight grandchildren, Michael, Mindy, Faith, Ricky, Nancy, Debbie, Dawn and Shelly; her Godson, Alfred Heck of West Virginia; several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren., nieces and nephews. Linda Rorick also survives. Louisa was predeceased by her husband Harry Lee Rorick in 1963. Her son Harry F. Rorick, whose wife Mary Rorick survives and resides in Pattersonville, also predeceased her. Her brother Frank Flanagan, sisters Bessie Frances and Lillian Heck, grandson Mark Peter Rorick, and companion Willard ?Brownie? Brown also predeceased her. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St; Broadalbin, where a funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM Thursday. Interment will take place at Glenville Cemetery, Glenville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, NE New York Affiliate, P.O. Box 13535, Albany, NY 12212.
