Louise Anna Castonguay
September 23rd, 1938 - November 18th, 2004
"Chicopee- Louise Anna (Motyka) Castonguay, 66, of James St. died November 18 at home after a brief battle with cancer. Born on September 23, 1938 in S.Hadley, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Bernacki) Motyka. She was raised in S.Hadley and Chicopee and graduated from Chicopee High School in 1957. Louise was self-employed for many years as a seamstress specializing in making and altering wedding gowns. She truly loved her profession especially because of the happiness it brought to her “girls”. Louise was also the co-owner of Roger’s Auto Body in Chicopee and belonged to the Holyoke League of Arts. She was an avid gardener and talented artisan and cook and enjoyed sharing her talents with family and friends. Louise was always a great friend to anyone who needed sound advice, a laugh, or a shoulder to cry on. She put everyone ahead of herself. She is survived by her husband Roger of 46 years, 3 daughters Donna L. Shea of Chicopee, Diane M. Hendricks and her husband Ayman Alrahma of Columbia, S.C, and Alyssa L. Castonguay of Chicopee, two grandchildren Cathy Shea and Luke Castonguay and 1 great grandchild Morgan Shea. she also leaves brothers Tony Motyka of S.Hadley, Leon Motyka of Palmer and sister Sophie Mieleszko of Hatfield. She was predeceased by her brothers Joe, Carl and Felix Motyka. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the Beers & Story S.Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. (Rte 116), followed by a Mass of Christian Liturgy at 12:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Louise benefited immeasurably for having her in their lives and will be eternally grateful for her wonderful personality and her wisdom and incredible generosity towards others. The void left by her passing cannot be filled. She was a truly remarkable and gifted wife, mother and friend. She will be missed. Donations may be made in her memory to Baystate VNA & Hospice, 50 Maple St., Springfield, MA or to Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield. "
