Louise Price Derrick
January 8th, 1923 - August 15th, 2016
Louise Price Derrick, 93, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday night August 15, 2016 at the Wexford House. She was born in Rogersville and had lived in Kingsport for over 50 years. She worked at Eastman Kodak in the 1940's and also worked for North Electric during the 1970's. She was also an active homemaker who attended West View Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school class. She was currently a member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church. She loved gardening, her flowers and walking in her neighborhood. She especially loved her cats and dogs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnie Derrick in 2004; sister, Margaret Ramey; brother, Raymond Price. She is survived by her sons, Gary Derrick and wife, Marjorie of Kingsport, Glenn Derrick and wife Linda of Phoenix, AZ, and Terry Derrick of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Donna Maria Derrick and Mitzi Derrick; two great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Horton, of Mount Carmel; two brothers, Emory Price of Surgoinsville, and Roger Price of Mooresburg, TN. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday August 18, 2016 in the ShareLife room at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Friends may call anytime at the residence of the son, Gary Derrick, 217 Ridgewood Drive, Kingsport. A service will follow at 7 pm with Pastor Mike Stout officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on August 19, 2016 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport, TN. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 to go in to procession. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Derrick family.
