Lowell Alma Simonson, 94, of New Plymouth, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at St. Alphonus Medical Center in Ontario. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 8th at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel. Condolences may be made to Lowell's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Lowell was born March 27, 1922 in Grace, ID to Alma Oliver and Sarah (Hutchinson) Simonson. He was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1946. He was stationed out of Scotts AFB near Belleville, IL. Lowell married Shirley Erwin in 1944 and moved back to Idaho in 1946 where he farmed and had a dairy. In 1957 they moved to Twin Falls where he fixed T.V.'s. Lowell moved his family once again in 1958 to New Plymouth where he has since resided; he worked for the Co-Op and continued to fix T.V.'s. Then starting his business's with a son. Lowell served two terms as mayor of New Plymouth in the late �60's - early �70's. Shirley passed away in 1995; they were married for 50 years. His second wife Thelma Jangula Simonson passed away in 2007. He is survived by three children, David (Peggy) Simonson of New Plymouth, Cheryl Jacques of Fruitland and Roger Simonson of Tamarac, FL; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
