Lucille Helen Dieterle, 90, of Loveland, CO died April 14, 2018 peacefully with her husband and family by her side. She was born in Rochester, NY on February 21, 1928. She graduated from Irondequoit High School and went to Genesco Sate Teachers College, graduating with a degree in Library Science and Elementary Education. She was a librarian at Williamson Central and taught 2nd grade at Webster Central schools. In 1951 she married Russell C. Dieterle whom she met in the 7th grade. They celebrated 66 years of marriage. In 1971 the family moved to Loveland, CO where she did volunteer work for English as a second language and head start. Because of her love for the poem "When I Grow Old I shall Wear Purple with a Red Hat,” she started the Red Hat Mommas which has continued to meet for many years. She and her husband had many travel adventures thru the United States, Mexico, Caribbean, Tahiti and Europe. She loved the ocean. She is survived by her husband Russell; son Mark and his wife Barbara; daughter Karen and her husband Charles; grandchildren Kelly and Eric; great granddaughter Kennedy; brother Robert Scheerschmidt; and her sister Susan Loeser. Cremation has been completed. Graveside services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on May 3, 2018 at 1:00pm, staging area "A”.
