BONAIRE, GA-Lucille B. Martin, 69, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, April 14, 11:00am at Andrew United Methodist Church. Burial is scheduled for Thursday, 3:00pm in the Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City, Georgia. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 13, from 3:00pm until 6:00pm at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Reverend Jim W. Dominey and Reverend Bobby Gale will officiate. Lucille was born June 29, 1952 in Hazelhurst, Georgia to the late Seward and Viola Brewer, Sr. She worked as a Postal worker for the United States Postal Service in Bonaire, Georgia for twenty years. Lucille was a member of Andrew United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, playing UNO with her daughters, and caring for her grandchildren. At one time, Lucille enjoyed playing tennis in Houston County. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be missed by everyone who knew her. Lucille is preceded in death by nine siblings: Isabelle Whitten, Seward Brewer Jr., Otis Brewer, J.P. Brewer, Onita Varnadoe, Sudie Hartley, Raleigh Brewer, Janie Lewis, and Loran Brewer. Lucille is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Gerald Martin; daughters: Charlotte and Crystal Martin of Bonaire, and Carrie (Beau) Buchanan of Kathleen; grandchildren: Bailey and Olin Buchanan; sisters: Barbara Scott of Towns, and Kay Tarpley of Baxley; and many nieces and nephews. Flowers are accepted and donations may be made in Lucille’s memory to Andrew United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2430 SR-127, Kathleen, Georgia, 31047.
