October 3rd, 1921 - February 12th, 2014
Mrs. Lucy Agnes Becker, age 92, died Wednesday evening, February 12, 2014 at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Health Care in Gloversville, where she has resided the past six years. She was born October 3, 1921 at Caroga Lake, NY; the daughter of the late Burtell and Anna Arnst Foster. In her younger years she was a former Girl Scout Leader. She was a seamstress and excelled in all of the needle arts. Mrs. Becker was a member of North Main Street United Methodist Church, Gloversville. A loving and devoted wife and mother, was married November 13, 1945 to Richard Edward Becker who died October 18, 1999. Lucy is survived by two daughters: Patricia Ann Wadsworth Philip of San Diego, CA and Janet L. Becker of Broadalbin. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by all six of her brothers and sisters: Wesley Foster, Henry Foster, Eva Sweet, Edith Western, Chester Foster and Harry Foster. There will be no calling hours or public service. A private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family in the spring-time at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's Association, Pine West Plaza, Bldg. 4; Suite 405; Washington Ave. Ext; Albany, NY 12205. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, Broadalbin.
