Lucy May Hume

Lucy May [Pinkley] Hume passed away August 23, 2012. She was born, October 21, 1920 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, to John and Bessie [Crampton] Pinkley. Lucy was the last of eleven children born to them. Lucy married Donald Ward Hume, October 6, 1939 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. To their union they have three children, Donna [John] Bechtel, Linda [Lawrence Marion] Isom, and Leslie [Laurita] Hume. Seven grandchildren, Kym Stewart, Jeb [Liezel] Bechtel, Jessica [Stuart] Yasukochi, Katie [Matthew] Siedenstang, Todd [Dyan] Isom, Donald and James Hume. Seven great-grandchildren, Cecillia Barron, Zachary and Zoe Siedenstrang, Savannah Lancaster, Mercedes Hume, Abby Isom and Daphne Jane Bechtel. Lucy was a farmer’s wife, who loved working with the animals and in the garden and her flower beds. She enjoyed sharing her flower arrangements at church every Sunday. She was well known for the terrific pies that she made. She was a 24/7 Mom, and in 1969 she became a rural mail carrier, a job that she took very seriously. She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings and her husband. The family wish to thank Autumn Wind, Brookstone Village, and XL Hospice for the special loving care given her over the past three years. Per her request there will be a private family graveside service. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Wilder Public Library in her name. Service Information
