Lucy J Rodriguez

Lucy J. Rodriguez died on the evening of June 20, 2016 at her residence at Manor Care Nursing Home, Chevy Chase, Maryland. She was 92 years old. Prior to moving to the nursing home this year, Lucy had lived in her apartment in Silver Spring for nearly 20 years. She was a lifelong resident of the Washington, D.C./Maryland area. Lucy was born Luz Juarez Bautista on December 6, 1923 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Central America, the daughter of Juan Bautista and Dorothea Juarez. She had three siblings who have predeceased her. Lucy came to the United States in 1945 to work for an American diplomatic family. She married William Rodriguez (deceased), in January of 1950 in Washington, D.C. They raised three children, Allan (deceased), (Susan), Robert, (Lisa) and Nelson (Lisa). Lucy had four grandchildren, Bill, Tiffani, Bryan and Ariella. She also had four great-grandchildren, Meriah, Caleb, Malachi and Isaac. Lucy became a United States citizen in 1962. Services for Lucy will be held gravesite at the Boyds Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 19901 White Ground Road, Boyds, MD 20841, on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served at the home of Nelson Rodriguez, 3404 John Carroll Drive, Olney, MD 20832. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Lucy's honor may be made to the charity of your choice.
